    Hello John,

It appears there’s an error in the BPP Revision Kit on learning curve.

    Question 199. Mic Co.

The incremental labour hour in the month of September should be 67.52hours.

    200hrs + 352hrs – 619.52hrs = 67.52 x $12 = $810.24

After watching your lecture, I was much more comfortable with the algebraic method and I used this in practising the question.

They used the tabular and I’m beginning to think I did something wrong?

    The answer is correct.

619.52 is the total hours for the first 4 batches.
352 is the total hours for the first 2 batches (200 for the first and 152 for the second)

    So the hours are 619.52 – 352 = 267.52 hours

Okay.. Thank you. Another thing about rounding.. How can we play it safe.. Should we round to three decimal points or two? Rounding can really affect the hours and the total labour costs as well or it’s just the workings we should really be worried about?

For learning curves I would usually play safe and round to three decimal points. However the marks are for the workings and so you do not lose marks for differences due to roundings.
