Hello, can you register for 2 professional bodies?
Does ACCA and CIMA allow this?
E.g If a person wanted to do ACCA F1-9 + P1-6 and then CIMA – Both?
Can you do this?
Thanks
November 2, 2016 at 8:35 pm #347140Yes.After you completed ACCA you can enroll Professional Gate away exam which will give you 11 exemptions and then you can do professional level papers. Of course much of the material will overlap so the benefits are questionable. You have ACCA’s teaching CIMA (e.g OT).and CIMA’s teaching ACCA (e.g.Astranti).

November 22, 2016 at 7:40 pm #350747Further to above answers which are absolutely correct,I would question the benefits of undertaking this course of action.ACCA allows you to take options papers on a post qualification basis. This means that it would be possible to cover management accounting topics as well as tax, financial and auditing ones at an advanced stage of study if that is what you really wanted to do.This would. deal with overlap problem addressed above and save a good deal of time, effort and money.

Kinda telling if you ask me…
April 16, 2018 at 8:31 pm #447548Yes but why you would want to do both is probably a more important question.
Regardless of the answer doing both is a complete waste of time
March 27, 2019 at 1:47 pm #510584I think CIMA offers additional skills in the areas of risk management, operations and strategic management that are not offered in ACCA. There is no waste of time. Having both Certifications will enable you to add real value to your organization. I say go for ACCA then go for CIMA if that is what you really want. Let no one stop you.
