Just a quick question regarding the capital allowance for plant and machinery bought below the 500 k limit.

If I in year 1 buy a machine for lets say 200 000, I can use the AIA and get the full allowance. (I have no other capital allowances in year 1)

In year 2 I sell the same machine for 180 000, if there is no main pool, would the whole disposal value go as a balancing charge.

Yes as the tax wdv on the pool would be nil at the time of disposal and the balance must be returned to nil at the end of the period
