Hi
Having trouble understanding the answer = 1.25
I would have thought it would be 1 * 1.20= 1.20?

For every 100 litres of input, 20 litres will be lost and therefore only 80 litres will be produced.
Putting it the other way round, for every 80 litres produced it will need 100 litres to be input.
100 for every 80 is the same as 100/80 = 1.25 times the output.
