can you help me with this ex2.5,page 252 bpp text
material $5000
labour (800hrs *$5 per hr) $4000
overhead (150% of labour cost) 6000 .learning curve :80%what would be the cost pu for a third and fourth yacht if they ordered separately later on ?
how to calculate labour hour ?is this working correct for 3rd yacht?
Total time for (1+3)4 yachts :2048
4 * 512less :time for first ie ;1*800 (800)
time for next 3 1248
avg time
1 800
2 640
4 512bpp text has worked out differently
October 10, 2016 at 9:50 am #342865You have calculated the time for the next 3, but the question as you have typed it is asking for the time for the 3rd.
I do suggest that you watch my free lectures on learning curves (the lectures are a complete free course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well).
October 10, 2016 at 10:10 am #342870…. that i have already watched .Most problems you had worked out was the next respective hours .can you help me with this question?
October 10, 2016 at 10:20 am #342871I have watched that video and most of the problem you worked out was next respective hours 🙁 can you help me with this one ?
October 11, 2016 at 1:34 am #342940The time for the third is the total time for 3 less the total time for 2.
The total time for 3 is 3 times the average time when they make 3. To get the average time per unit when making 3 you need to use the formula.
October 11, 2016 at 5:27 am #342956we less total time for 2 from 3 since it that difference would be extra time required for making three yachts ?is it !!
are my workings correct?
tot time for 3 yachts 3* 92.99 278.99
less time for 2
2 *640 (1280)
( 1001.01)
average time for 3 working
y=axb800 * 3 log(.8/log 2
800*.1162
92.99average time for two
1 800
2 640October 11, 2016 at 12:46 pm #342968Your workings look to be correct (but is there no answer in the BPP Study Text? I do not have the Study Text, only the Revision Kit).
(If you watch my free lectures then you don’t really need the Study Text – the lectures are a complete free course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam. Much more important is the Revision Kit, because it contains lots of exam standard questions for practice, and question practice is vital to passing the exam.)
October 11, 2016 at 2:20 pm #342976yup there is answer .They have found out Cost of third and fourth yachts :,together it seems no clue.Didn’t understand that particular working .They got 768hrs
October 12, 2016 at 1:58 am #343003Sorry, but as I wrote before I do not have the BPP Study Text and so I cannot check.
October 17, 2016 at 7:11 am #343820I am not able to make a new post .I dont understand why.:( so giving as a reply
Is it necessary you should go through BPP study material ? I am afraid whether I could finish both text, volume is large 🙁 Will the revision kit be fine? as scheme has changed making it 60% for MCQ and 40% for problems .How to score well for MCQ? I think I lost in MCQ this time
