Hi,
Whilst studying, I’m helping a friend submit his self assessment tax return, however I’m a bit confused!
He started working as a sub contractor on 23rd March 16 (previously employed & paid tax through PAYE) – should he submit a 15/16 return for the work he did in the last week of March 16? If so, does he include all previous PAYE payslips for 15/16?
Thanks
Hi
You will have to account for the income from his p45 and any other income and workout the tax liability.
Any taxes that have been paid will be credited therefore will only pay taxes on the income that has not beet taxed previously.
Hope this helps.
Regards
