Hi sir,
I dont know if this is the right place to ask but can you tell me if a Masters in Finance/MSc in Finance degree teach the same topics as P4 or do they teach something more and detailed?
I love finance subjects and wish to pursue a Masters degree in Finance but I also dont want to learn the same topics I have already learnt in P4 (although if its more detailed and broad then I dont mind)September 18, 2016 at 12:35 am #340815It all depends which university you would be studying in.
P4 is supposed to be the equivalent of a masters degree and so overall I would not expect there to be a lot of difference.
September 18, 2016 at 12:52 am #340816Oh okay :/
I expected some big difference between them.So I guess…MBA it is then?
September 18, 2016 at 11:57 am #340843An MBA is not necessarily the same as a Masters in Finance – it does depend on the particular college.
MBA’s are likely to include much of P4 (although maybe a bit less technical) but also include other aspects of running a business – not solely financial aspects.
September 21, 2016 at 3:46 pm #341237Hi I just wanted to ask where and if there is lectures for P4 topic ‘The valuation of debt finance and MaCaulay duration and modified duration.
If they are not available why is this??
September 22, 2016 at 2:49 am #341294No there is not a lecture because I have not had time yet to record one!
The valuation of debt should be easy for you because it is revision of F9, and the durations should be clear from the free lecture notes.
