Mike, this is to share with you that I sat and cleared my F4 exam yesterday with a score of 77. All thanks to you and your lectures/notes! π
However, I do feel bad for the woman who cleaned and renovated the house of her mother in law and was consequently promised to be compensated but ended up getting not even a single penny (The famous past consideration concept).
Don’t you feel bad too?September 1, 2016 at 7:19 pm #336900That case (re McArdle) has to be one of the saddest cases in my repertoire
It always brings a tear to my eye – even now after all these years that I’ve had to get over it
Congratulations on a great score and thanks for letting me know
Onwards and upwards π
September 1, 2016 at 8:38 pm #336924Well, not surprised there!
Thanks – see you in F7! πSeptember 2, 2016 at 7:19 am #336977Looking forward to it!
September 3, 2016 at 9:28 am #337245Oh and there was this good question in the exam:
X puts up an advertisement in the newspaper “Labrador puppies for sale, $25 each”
Y buys 1000 television sets and puts 1 of them on his shop’s window_____________
I do not remember the names nor the prices above but the concept is the same.
In case of Y it is clearly an invitation to treat, but what did X do? Did he give an offer or was that too an invitation to treat?September 3, 2016 at 11:55 am #337275X is the case Partridge v Crittenden
Y is the case Fisher v Bell
Look them up on the internet – they’re both fun!
