I was wondering do you go from 5731/(16*500)=r^4
to 92%?That
s how theyve presented the working in the kit.Also, is there anyway to solve this question by using the formula? If so, could you solve it and show the workings?

r^4 = 5731/(16 x 500) = 0.716375
Therefore r = fourth root of 0.716376 = 0.92 (or 92%)
To use the formula you would need to mess around with antilogs which would be ridiculous. The equation is deliberately testing you on the doubling rule – the examiner expects you to know the doubling rule as well as being able to use the formula (but not to use the formula to ‘work backwards’).
