    Hello,

I heard that ACCA can deduct several marks for the compulsory tasks that were not tried in the answering booklet.

E.g. after my answering booklet has been checked I scored, say, 50 marks, and since I didn’t try one task that was compulsory due to lack of the time the marker deducts some points (may be half a mark or, say, a mark), thus my final result for the exam will be 49 marks.

Could you please advise whether this is true or not? Does smb have any info?

    Thanks,
    Eugene.

No. You lose marks simply by not winning them. If you leave something out, even if compulsory, you get no marks for that but there is no,additional penalty.

    What or who is smb?

    Ken,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I was sure there are no penalties for doing or not doing something, but the person who told me about this sounded conclusively enough, so I started to doubt. Thank you once again.

    PS. “smb” = “somebody” 🙂
