Hi,
I’m self studying for the E3 after passing the Management Gateway exam. Can someone guide me as to how E3 is examined? How many MCQs are there in total and what are the total marks? What is the pass mark ?90 minutes, 60 OT questions, 70% pass mark.
After all three OT exams have been passed at a level, there is an integrated case study for that level.
Thank you so much for replying. Just one more question. What are the total marks? Out of how mnay do we need to score 70%? Is every MCQ worth around 2 marks?
You need to score 70/100 or 42 right out of 60 questions or 84 marks out of 120 available if there are 2 marks per question.
The marks per question are irrelevant.

I wrote my E2 in may 2016 for the first time and got 89% marks but on the print out of
my exam result said you have fail. Can you plz help understand how this marking works.Thank you.

By far the best is to look at the CIMA past case studies.
Two pieces of advice:
1 When you get the pre-seen material, do not attempt to guess what might come up. The unseen material will usually ask you something quite unexpected. Concentrate on becoming familiar with what is in the pre-seen as your answers will have to refer to that.
2 Always tie back you answers to the organisation that is features. You pay the part of an employee so will always e answering with reference to you organisation – even for questions that seem to be very theoretical.
