    Dear Sir,

I have been using my Kaplain study kit to prepare for the June 2016 exam. However, the exam didn’t go well and I am pretty sure I will need to re-sit in September. Can I still use my old exam kit or do I have to buy a new one for the September/December exams?

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Maya

Maya, the one you have is fine

There is, however, a big shift in the format of the exam

If you aren’t already aware and if you want more detail, post again

    Thank you, Mr Little.
Yes please, I’d really like more detail on the new format. I got the impression that the format has already been changed recently (by adding the MCQ).

The paper is split into 3 sections

Section A (qs 1 – 15) is 15 mcqs worth 2 marks each (computer marked)

    Section B (qs16 – 20, 21 – 25 and 26 – 30) is 3 scenario type questions with 5 questions worth 2 marks each based on each scenario (computer marked)

Section C (qs 31 and 32) are two traditional type questions (consolidation, preparation of single entity financial statements, interpretation, cash flow) each question worth 20 marks (expert marked)

    All questions are compulsory

    Section A worth 30 marks

    Section B worth 30 marks

    Section C worth 40 marks

If you put into your search engine “specimen F7 exam” and select the option that tells about the September 2016 specimen paper, you can see a specimen F7 there on the screen in front of you

    OK?
