SIr, i have encountered a question while I was studying Depreciation.

Is Straight line basis cost model method?

I know it could sound silly though

Since I haven’t seen a question required to get the carrying value of an asset with straight line basis, I am really curious about this.

I know the depreciation is equal every year in Straight basis sir.

I would be really appreciated for your help sir!

The words ‘cost model method’ are not used in the exam.

The depreciation basis in the exam will either be straight line or reducing balance (and I am astonished if you have not seen questions requiring you to use the straight line basis!).

Our free lectures cover both methods in detail.

(Our free lectures are a complete course for Paper F3 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.)
