i failed f8 3 times in a row,(47,49,46), if i try to ans 100% then cant cover full scenario, if try to cover every ans sufficiently cant finish all ans(this was happened this mar’16, only ans 80%), so how can i overcome this? what technique should i follow, please advise me
April 18, 2016 at 3:27 pm #311353Sorry to hear about your disappointing result. So close on all occasions. I would guess that you know the subject fair well and, as you suggest, the problem is technique.
The trick is to try to explain as many relevant pointo as you can so that you maximise your chance of gainiing marks. Do you see paragraphs and short sentences? One or two word bullet points are not usually successfull, but keep sentenses short and to the point. So, for example, instead of saying: “the steps that the auditor must take when arriving out a receivables circulwrisatio” say “Steps for receivables circularisation”.
Also always check that you are accurately addressing the question requirements egg what are the risks AND how can they be overcome. Lots of candidates would only mention the risks.
April 18, 2016 at 3:45 pm #3113631.You mean I need to keep my sentences short but not losing core points…
2.As I always mentioned risk and recommendations clearly.I think it may not be the case for me.April 18, 2016 at 6:52 pm #3114491 – yes, because you say more in fewer words and less time.
2 – OK it’s not always risk and recommendations, of course. Underline the verbs eg identify, recommend, explain – just to be sure.
I hope that makes sense.
Can you find an on-line service that would provide feedback on your answers (I’m sorry, we don’t have the resources for that) or is there a course nearby that you could attend for a day to give feedback?

April 22, 2016 at 8:10 pm #312267I can’t see where you read that.
The key is to scale the setail of your answer to the marks (and therefore time) available.
In the time try to explain efficiently as much as you can
April 29, 2016 at 5:49 pm #313087i am also failed in f8 and reason is this i cant undrestand scenior and give the proper answer. My second reason is this my english is not good how can i pass f8 exam .please give me suggestion
April 29, 2016 at 8:08 pm #313100As you suggest, you might have to improve your English. ACCA is not strict about grammar because they realise that English is a second language for many candidates. However, weak language skills can make it more difficult to understand the question and will slow down writing of an answer so that not enough is written to score enough marks.
October 15, 2018 at 5:01 am #478226Hello, I failed my f8 twice now, first with 41% and 2nd attempt with 43% timing is not an issue I finished last attempt before 50 minutes, I learned all the past papers and leaned the verbs as well Attempted full exam didn’t know it wasn’t even 50% please help me what I can do with this cbe sessions.
October 15, 2018 at 8:58 am #478316There are two clues in what you have just written. If you finished the exam with 50 minutes to spare you did not spend enough time on it. Perhaps you did not read the Qs in Section A carefully enough and made incorrect choices and in Section B you did not plan your answers sufficiently to answer the Qs set. You cannot “learn” this exam. Every question is different and you must answer the Q set and not be swayed by previously published answers – every answer point must be relevant to the scenario – answer points written on “auto pilot” or from learnt lists are likely to have been irrelevant.
There is a wealth of resources available on ACCA’s www https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8.html including a retake guide. I recommend you start with this.
