Hi sir,
Does goodwill impairment loss affect GW on acquisition date? From DEC 2 011 to JUNE 2015, it appears that there is no impact , but BEFORE JUNE 2010 , it appears that there is an impact-GW impairment loss has been deducted from GW on acquisition date. I just wonder the reason why, is it because IAS has changed from DEC 2010? Thanks in advance.The asset arises on acquisition so impairment BEFORE or ON the date of acquisition is not possible
What IS possible is that you are misinterpreting the answers from before December 2010
Don’t worry about what was happening 5 years ago – concentrate on getting current practice right!
