    Hi,

Just wondering does this merit any marks in the exam.

The way I approached the Political situation in the PESTEL model: Provided an analysis of The Federate Sates government by focusing on the governments raise on taxes and cut on social welfare which in-turn has caused riots and a political unrest with TFS. The mobile network is being used to arrange the riots etc. so the government want the mobile operators to provide them with data information to help prosecute the rioters and help prevent the riots.

From looking at the answer the examiner discusses more about the 4 scenarios and the current regulatory rules that in place within TFS.

I would have imagined this area of the scenario would be used in part B of the question?

Is my approach more to do with Socio Economic instead of Political?

    Thanks

I think the points you make are fine – provided they are angled at their effect on the company. So, the cut in welfare is not of itself relevant unless it means that fewer people could afford phones or that political unrest jeopardises the company’s position. The company will have to decide whether it is happy supplying user details to the government or whether it would prefer to withdraw from operating in that country for ethical and reputational reasons.
