I am thinking of studying for P1 for the March examination, do you think i its enough time until March ? Do you have any tips in how to study for P1 since it will be my first professional paper.
Yes this is enough time.
Focus on time management as you will face more time pressure in. P papers which consist of 1 compulsory 50 marker question so it’s quite challenging in terms of planning and writing.
Scenarios are much much longer than what you have in F level – especially after introduction of MCQ section.
Technical Articles, Past Papers + Answers practice are essential.
P1 is a good starter as it is considered to be the easiest paper from Professionals.
In P papers repetition on book learned knowledge will not grant a pass mark. Application (reference) to scenario is the Key to pass.
You can also score professional marks (up to 4 in Q1) for applying appropriate format (eg. report) and consistent logical flow of your answer.
guys advise I am a new Acca student .
their revision pack answers are in paragraph format .My previous exams was more used and comfortable with bullet point answering,which was good to trace the quantity points you raised for allocated marks.Is P1 ACCA enforce these paragraph type of answers rigidly?
Bullet points do not provide a pass mark on P level.
The general approach is that you get 1 mark for 1 good idea provided.
This usually requires 1-2 full sentences wrote in a paragraph format.I suggest revising examiner answers together with marking scheme to get a feeling about the approach. But please be advised that examiner answers are ‘perfect answers’ ie. you score 100/100.
Paragraph format is also recommended because it makes the marker’s life easier. Text flow without any spaces is so much harder to mark accordingly.
