hi sir,
i always see that the appendices is at the back of the report. the problem is in the exam u have to perform the calculations which is included in appendice first so as to reach a conclusion and recommendartions and explanations of assumptions which is included in the body of the report which comes first. the only way to possibly do this i think is to leave reasonable space and then come feel it up later with the explanations and assumptions but under exam pressure one will tend to make silly mistakes as leaving too much or too little a space.do u please have any recommendations sir
It doesn’t matter whether the appendix is before or after the report. It is perhaps better to be doing the appendix first because you will be referring to figures from it in the report.
Two things though:
First, obviously head up the pages properly so that it is obvious to the marker which is the appendix and which is the report.
Secondly, in the time available, you are unlikely to finish everything – either because you run out of time or because you get stuck somewhere.
Just make sure you don’t just hand in an appendix without having done something on the report.
If you are running out of time, then leave one or two blank pages for the rest of the appendix (you might have time left later in the exam and so you can come back and try and do more), but make sure at the very least you get the professional marks for the report (by heading it up, writing a brief introductory paragraph, having a section listing assumptions, etc.. There are a few very easy marks you can get by doing this and don’t waste them by not leaving a few minutes because you are spending all your time on the calculations 🙂 You would really kick yourself if you failed on something like 48% and you had not spent a few minutes doing something for the report. I would not mention this if it did not happen to so many people!!)okay sir and lastly,
i also noticed in the examiner model answer, that the
“from: to: subject: date:” part of the report is at the beginning of the appendix not at the start of the report.the normal reports i am used to puts the “from to subject date” right at the begining.
is this method also acceptable?
