Hi,
I was wondering which model would be most appropriate to assess the competative nature of a company’s exisiting market..
My thoughts are with Porters 5 forces as this assesses industry competativeness?
Is there any other model that would be beneficial here?
Thank you.
Hi ,
porter 5 forces is the most appropriate model to assess the competitive nature of a company’s existing market.. but you may also consider Porter’s Diamond of competitive advantage model.
Use porters five forces. Why make life difficult for yourself. If the question asks you to assess a nations competitive advantage then use Porters Diamond but that will be rare I think.
A strategic group analysis can also be used. This has never been asked though. Strategic groups are companies in an industry with similar characteristics.
