Dear Mike
First of all I would like to thank you for your great lectures, handy and entertaining, which helped me through a couple of exams.
Q:
Is it possible that examiners don’t give marks because of the grammar and sentence construction that sometimes make the answer not easy to follow (but still correct). I was tempted to ask the review but you advised Fred (I think) not to waste money and time…but how we know where the mistake was? I felt I was scoring 55 this time. Thanks for your help
(I am asking this apparently silly question because I am very annoyed with P7 as I scored 41-46-48 and I always passed the exams at my first attempt with exception of F9.
English is my second language and I also passed all my 24 economics master degree exams at the first attempt in my home country – you may imagine how boring is to study again the same things!!)November 13, 2015 at 4:52 pm #282193We are repeatedly told that this is not an English exam – it’s an auditing exam written in English.
I’m very happy to believe in the professionalism of the markers so I’m sure that a review would not have been successful and it would simply be money thrown away.
Well, if it’s not your English and it isn’t your knowledge ….what else do you think it could be?
Post me when you believe you’ve identified the cause

I am reading technical articles about how to tackle questions in order to improve my exam skills and answer in full the requirements.rgds
November 17, 2015 at 6:00 am #283200You’re welcome – may I also recommend the “exam technique” article on this site that is a general comment but there should be stuff in there to help.
In addition there are two articles in the P4 technical articles (Yes, P4, but they are applicable throughout the P level exams) written by two separate members of the P4 marking team. They are in that P4 page on this site and were written maybe 3 / 4 years ago
