    Dear Mr Moffat

I have a problem with below question; could you please help?

A company intend to produce a new product.
They have produced to test units, the first takes 18 hours to make whereas the second 10 hours.
    What is the learning rate?

    The answer provided is 78%.

With my calculation I got 56%

    10/18* 100 55.55 (to the nearest hour)

    Thanks and Regards

    Gabriella

The first unit takes 18 hours.

The second unit takes 10 hours. So the average time per unit when making 2 units is (10 + 18) / 2 = 14 hours.

So the learning rate is 14/18 = 78%

(Have you watched the free lecture? Because I go through a similar example in the lecture 🙂 )

    Dear Sir,

I missed to calculate the average time before calculating the learning curve.
    Thanks
