Whats the difference between review engagement and assurance engagement?
A review engagement is a form of assurance engagement.
A statutory audit gives positive assurance “…the financial statements give a T&F view”
A review engagement is less than an audit and reviews the FS to see if there is anything obviously wrong. It will give a negative assurance “…..nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe that the interim financial information is not prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework”
Thank you very much for the expalnation. Does it mean that Review engagement is the same as Limited Assurance?
It is one kind of limited assurance, yes.
Thank you very much!
