Hello Mr Mike
Hope you are fine and enjoying from your weekend (if my questions don’t destroy it!!!)
How many IMPORTANT dates do we have in accounting/auditing?
Let’s consider an example!
A company year end is 31/12/2015!
And the managers finish preparing the financial statements and sign them by 29/2/2016 .
Then the auditor will audit the financial statements and issue and issue their report on 31/3/2016.Now the questions are :
1 – Do we have any other important dates?
2 – When is the ”audit report date”?
3 – After issuing the audit report on 31/3/2016, what will happen? The auditors should talk on AGM about the report?
4 – Specifically I don’t understand the difference between ” audit report date” & ” Issue date of the audit report”.
5 – Subsequent events is the period between which dates?!!!!Sorry, if I am asking too many questions, but I am really confused with all these dates. If would be great if you could make a full example which consists all the dates!!
I completely accept if you will refuse to answer all these long question!!
But thank you in advance 😉
Kind RegardsSeptember 26, 2015 at 9:23 pm #273670Date of agm is important (see later)
Audit report date is the date on ….. the audit report!
The auditors may talk about their report at the agm
No difference
Year end and date the directors approve the financial statements (this MUST BE before audit report date)
