Good Afternoon John,
I will be taking F9 (& F 8) in December. I have started reviewing your notes and listening to the lectures. I look forward to spending the next weeks listening to more of your lectures. I also have the study text and practice kit. Although I will study and practice the whole syllabus, I would like to know if there is particular area of the syllabus which students find more difficult, or which generally requires more time to cover?Thank you
RoisinSeptember 25, 2015 at 3:29 pm #273562The best way is to watch the lectures, work through all the questions in your revision kit, ask in this forum when you hit any problems, and you only really need to use the study text if you want to do some extra reading or if there is something you don’t understand.
As for particular areas of the syllabus, different students find different areas easy or hard. Also, because of the Section A multiple choice questions, all of the syllabus is examined.
Having said that, absolutely vital is everything to do with investment appraisal, and everything to do with cost of capital (including capital asset pricing model).
Finally, remember only 50% of the exam is calculations, and 50% is ‘written’, so make sure you do understand and don’t just learn rules.

October 4, 2015 at 9:08 am #274907I have twice fail on 44 and 46 don’t know how to pass? Kindly advise?
October 4, 2015 at 9:14 am #274909All I can suggest is what I wrote in my early reply to Roisin. Watch all of the lectures, and practice every question in your Revision Kit (if you have not got one then you must buy one – and you do need a current edition because of the MCQ’s).
If you have any problems with any of the questions then ask in this forum and I will try and help.October 4, 2015 at 5:42 pm #274938Thanks a lot quene 🙂
