Dear John,
I’ve just finished F5 exam. I have some impressions regarding this exam:
For MCQs, I guessed answers for 2 questions and I am not sure for the other 2 questions.
For Section B questions:
1. Explanation for target costing. Fully narrative is a gift for me.
2. Performance indicator question is still a big gift.
3. MINIMAX REGRET! I love this! You have covered this in your lecture! Almost the same! I have not studied for this area on my own so your lecture is a big help!
4. Operating statement (some parts are of variance analysis) is nightmare as I have not covered this before the exam ==
5. CVP graph is tough (8 marks) but I managed to finish it in my second attempt (my first graph is crossed out). For this exam, I aim to score 50-60 but pass is enough (50).
This sitting is harder than June 2015 but transfer pricing is not tested (lucky)
In summary, thank you very much John and your lectures!!

September 9, 2015 at 5:14 pm #270839Dear John
When can you allocate here the suggest answers for MCQs F5 September ?
I really appreciate your lectures?September 10, 2015 at 8:45 am #270960The ACCA will not be publishing the whole of the September exam, and not until after the December exam anyway.
“With the introduction of the four exam sessions, we will continue to publish the same number of exams, two per year, and at the same times, after the December and June exam sessions.
These exams will be compiled from questions selected by the examining team from the two preceding sessions. That is, they will not reflect the entire September or December exam, for example, but will contain questions most appropriate for students to practice. “
September 10, 2015 at 1:44 pm #271039Hi John, you say ACCA are not publishing exam questions from now on? hope I have misunderstood but does this mean looking at past papers going forward is going to be a thing of the past?
I would also like to say thanks very much, I did F5 yesterday and I think I cracked it also and if I have then without doubt I couldnt have done it without your online lectures!

The ACCA will not be releasing exam questions from now on and so since we will not be able to see the questions, we will not be able to provide suggested answers.Dear John,
Last night I phoned ACCA but the advisor told me that there’s no clear info regarding the suspension of publishing past papers from June 2015 onwards (he also advised me that the past paper for this session will be released from 6 weeks after exam date). Have I got the wrong info?
Sorry for inconvenience caused.
Have a nice day!

The ACCA issued a statement some months ago – they will only be publishing Section B of Papers F5 to F9. They will not be publishing the MCQ’s (except for Paper F6, but only this one time).John,
To be honest, the Section B questions are more important than Section although each Section B question weighs 2 marks. Normally MCQs test one area of knowledge so it’s hard to identify, maybe the type of question (Sept. 2015 session is the case in which some questions are lengthy and tricky compared with previous sittings and specimen paper).
Having Section B questions is better than nothing.
I may have missed this announcement.
Thanks for your note!
September 10, 2015 at 4:27 pm #271099You are welcome 🙂
(When the questions are published, then I will upload suggested answers as usual within a day or two.)

In addition, ACCA uses a rolling question bank for Section B questions so some topics will not be tested esp. for q4 and q5. I think this could be a good point for question spotting.
What do you think?
September 11, 2015 at 8:24 am #271192Thats not true and there is not much point in question spotting.
