The best way to attempt p7 past papers would be either, write the answers and then compare them with the answers written in exam kit or just read the answers from exam kit?
September 1, 2015 at 9:47 pm #269484Read and then, sometime later, try to plan your own answer to see that you are able to gather together the same number of markable points as there are marks available in the question
No two P7 exam questions are going to have the same points. This is not like an F7 exam where you can virtually guarantee a consolidation question that has pups within the question
P7 is a completely different kettle of fish!
What you WILL gain from looking at P7 answers is a realisation of the style of answering (headings, number of points, ability to bring in what are apparently tangential points, sticking to the question requirements “consider, identify, comment, critically appraise, discuss, explain, …..”)
At this stage it’s really a matter of immersing yourself in the terminology of the subject and accepting the realisation that, although you knew all the points included within an answer, you wouldn’t have written them all down if you had been faced with that question in the real exam.
That realisation comes when you have practiced planning 2 or 3 questions and you start kicking yourself for missing off so many obvious points.
Accept that as a lesson learned, and then turn it to your advantage in the exam room
