What is the best way to make sure you get the marks for P5. By looking at past papers it is diffcult to see what marks are awarded for example sometimes it states you get 1 mark per point other times it 2 marks per point how would you know on the day.

    for example:

Assess the recent performance of the three regional offices by interpreting the data given in Appendices 1 and 2. (10 marks) Mark Scheme -Discuss overall performance up to 1, Evaluate measures calculated and offer suggested improvements up to 2. Discuss performance of each office up to 8

How do I know on the day that i will get 1mark for discussing and 2 marks for evaluating?

You don’t know until you see the marking scheme.

I usually tell people to budget for 1.5 marks per point you make (0.5 for identifying the point and 1 for explanation).

The marks for part of a question give an indication of the time and therefore the length/detail. For 10 marks aim for about 1.25 pages; for 20 marks aim for about 2 pages (roughly).
