Hi,
I failed in P7 in June. I got 43%. Areas where I feel I’m mainly struggling in is the ethical and practical issues and practice management issues. I find with these questions that industry experience plays a big part in passing these questions. I’m happy I can apply a core understanding of the syllabus which hopefully be enough to pass the questions but given these items can come up in any question I’m wondering outside of question practice how to better improve on these areas if not working in that industry? Everytime there is a new scenario I struggle with understanding exactly what needs to be done. Of course when I look at the answer, majority of times it makes sense but I know in my heart and soul I wouldnt think that way.
I’m happy with audit reports and accounting standards which was an area I wasnt as strong in going into the exam so I feel if I can bridge the gap re the above I will give myself every chance of passing in September.
Appreciate any guidance here.
regards,
ed

There are not many students in that exam room that have the industrial experience that you seem to think is a point disadvantaging you.
There can’t be many with hotel experience, or farm experience, off-shore oil drilling experience, sports club experience, health centre experience, whisky distillery experience – the list is endless
I suggest that it’s not your lack of experience in particular industries that is stopping you. It’s an inability to picture / imagine the difficulties faced by hospitals / schools / breweries / manufacturers / service organisations ……
Transport yourself mentally into the heart of the business of the question, look around you, see the problems, imagine the difficulties
Yes, let your imagination fly
