I’ve just started using the BPP Revision Kit and I am finding it more difficult than I thought I would…
August 10, 2015 at 9:02 pm #266616I think you will find many people share this experience. The good thing about this is it is much better to have this knowledge now than in the exam where nothing much can be done.An important point to remember is that to pass you only need to obtain fifty per cent of the marks. It is very possible you will obtain more than this but the syllabus is very wide ranging and very few candidates will be able to,for example, memorise every non-assessable tax benefit and so may apply incorrect tax treatment under exam conditions. When looking at answers given in revision booklet remember these are idealised answers prepared by experts under non-pressured conditions.Further to this if you have any problems with any subjects feel free to post on this forum and I am sure the community will do what they can to help or alternatively post on ask the tutor board.

I have got a question. I am starting to look at the past papers. Can this be confusing given that there are changes to the tax rates and allowances?
August 11, 2015 at 8:03 am #266661I would agree this could be a problem.Even bigger problems could arise as fundamental differences in way taxes are legislated have occurred between financial Acts.In this way using revision kits is an advantage as the questions and answers should be adapted up to date to overcome this problem. Its something that everybody needs to be aware when using past papers. It doesn’t just apply to tax papers. So please bear the above in mind when using unadapted past papers and answers if you choose to use them.
August 11, 2015 at 6:24 pm #266773I guess we have to use them as a guide. Are you studying for F6 at the moment?
August 11, 2015 at 7:25 pm #266785No, I have passed this exam but intend to take P6 (probably in December) and so need to revise the material.
