I am totally freaking out now because the September ACCA exams are available in London North and London South East but they haven’t decided on the exam centres yet!!

I usually sit my exams at the ExCeL centre in the Docklands which is convenient for me.

Does anybody know more about this? I phoned ACCA and was told that they do not have any idea where the exam centres will be. This is very vague.

I haven’t paid yet. I went to book it and had to select the exam centre, when I saw the two options I thought that surely you would know the exact location. I phoned ACCA and they said they will not know until nearer the time. I asked if I booked one of the London ones and then found out the other one was more convenient could I change it and they said no.

I could give them a few more weeks and find out the information on the docket but you have to pay upfront. This means that I could pay and then not be able to get there and be out of pocket. It is bad enough that you have to make sure you get there on time with the possibility of transport delays but to not even know where it is you have to get to is ridiculous.

    ok, I see.
I would imagine, they may not know yet themselves what the demand will be like..

on the other hand, why should the exam centres be different? they are probably the same as always in London.

If it was ACCA fault about the exam centre.. they would move your payment forward to December.

anyways, keep emailing/calling them if you like. then they will see your and (possibly other students) problems.. and maybe they’ll fix it.

Yes, they said they didn’t know. The exam centre code is different to the ExCeL centre where I usually go and I don’t know what the other usual exam centres in London are if in fact there are any others at all.

The best I can do is just book South East London.

They could move the payment forward but I am planning on sitting two exams in September and two in December. If I can’t do two in September I would be forced to do four in December! Plus I would have already prepared for those two in September so couldn’t contain that knowledge until December with another two on top as well.

I am surprised that nobody else has raised this yet? I can call and email all I like but only have up to the 10th August for an answer. I don’t really want to end up wasting money and hour upon hours of my time studying for nothing.

I know that this is the first sitting in September and there may be complications but students to deserve to know where they stand. This is quite important information to have.

If you can assist in any way I would appreciate it and in the meantime I will continue to do what you have suggested i.e. emailing and calling

    Thanks

I have been having the same problem. I’m based in Portsmouth so none of the exam centres are remotely local to me. I have no idea if I would be better off with London North, London South East, or maybe even Birmingham!!!

ACCA must have some idea, even if they can’t guarantee the exact location they must use regular locations as my local exam centre has been the same for the past 3 years!

I’m running out of time to decide and book…. If anyone could help with any of these locations I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

Yes, this is exactly my point that we are running out of time. The deadline is 10th August but I don’t even know what time the cut-off is?
