Hi. I use to like this or can say love this subject as it was very general and with so much depth. It was not 1+1=2, but we get to Think and analyse. But unfortunately i could not pass this subject. i tried many times and i took a break cause of this paper. My first attempt was 48-thn 47 thn syllabus changed (i dint know cause i left acca for some reasons) thn again took paper not knowing of the change and scored 38. I dun knw why i kept failing this subject i have no clue where am going wrong. I even taught my few friends this subject. I kept trying after syllabus change last time i scored 47 again….zzzz… i guess examiner like to read my paper 😀 or maybe examiner enjoys my smiley faces 😀 (I know that is unprofessional, but cant help it :D) Now after a very long break i started studying again and i hope in this December i can pass it. about how i use to answer question i adopted different strategies..first few attempts i went traditional way, question 1 first then other two questions, of two easy one first then hard one. After few attempts i changed to First 25 marks question then 50 marks thn 25 marks. Even then i end up having 47-46 marks.I do complete my paper but could not complete in which i took 47 marks after syllabus change.. Any suggestions?

August 11, 2015 at 2:03 pm #266737hi,
I was fortunate enough to pass this paper the first sitting and i believe that a good part of that is the strategy i used. I found on article on the ACCA P3 technical articles listing written by a marker that went through the common mistakes good students make when in the exam and was able to apply it in the exam. I am not a genius and quite frankly i forgot most of what i knew in that timed pressured environment.
If you sat the June 2015 paper you know that question was killer there where so many ways you could use the information given, most students came out saying the paper was a disaster. I used 1.5 mins per mark jotting down as much as i could if i got stuck in a section i moved on. The optional questions I looked at the ones that i could remember the most about and fill in based on the scenario.
hope this helps
