I am doing a cashflow question and under current asset
Balance sheet extract
Current Asset
2001 2002
0 50
notes states the current asset investment is a 30 day government bond.
how do I treat this is the cash flow statement
July 22, 2015 at 7:01 pm #261437Because it’s less than 30 days to maturity you should treat it as an element of cash and cash equivalents, down at the bottom of the statement of cash flows
Ok?
July 23, 2015 at 3:18 pm #261507Should I treat it as an inflow. It is a current asset so I am wondering if its an outflow.
July 23, 2015 at 11:31 pm #261573It’s neither! It’s to be added in to the closing “Cash and cash equivalents” figure to be carried forward.
It’s included within the very last line in the statement of cash flows
Ok?
