    question 3 consolidation plastic, I dont understand why the net controlling interest of the SOFP is not is 300 instead of 180.

    Hi Josy

    Is there something that you don’t understand in working vi) in the printed solutions – when read in conjunction with the penultimate line in the statement of profit or loss?

    The reason for the additional 120,000 is because of the 600,000 post acquisition increase in the fair value of Subtrak’s property

    Ok?

    this way is much more easier to understand. thanks a lot a Dear Sir

    Yes, your calculation is correct. What I fail to understand is how you think that your way of arriving at the answer is any different than in the printed solution!
    But it doesn’t matter which way you choose to adopt – so long as you hit the right figure in the end!
