Dear Mr.John,
Where should the first 15 minutes to be spend ?
Reading Mcq’s or other questions ?
I find my self making several mistakes in spelling, will the examiner make any deduction of these mistakes ?
June 4, 2015 at 1:36 pm #253032It really is up to you.
I personally would look to see what the topics were in Section B (by quickly looking just at the requirements) to decide which order to attempt then in.
Otherwise I would spend the time doing the MCQ’s – you can write on the question paper during the 15 minutes, but not in the answer book. Just make sure that you copy any answers into the answer sheet when you are allowed to start, because they will not mark your question paper!
You do not lose marks for bad spelling 🙂
June 4, 2015 at 2:04 pm #253041Hi,
I have a question – do i need to show calculations on part a or points is given for correct answer only?June 4, 2015 at 3:53 pm #253090No – you do not need to show workings for Section A.
For Section A, there is a form on which to put your answers.
Any workings you need you do in the answer booklet, but they will not be looked at. A computer will mark the answers on the form that is supplied in the answer book.
June 4, 2015 at 6:25 pm #253277Hi John,
could you please let me know if I need to provide workings for sales revenue, variable and fx cost when inflation is included in the DCF question (let’s say Q4 in Dec14 exam) or would the final figure for all the above be enough to get max points?
Thanks,
GosiaJune 4, 2015 at 6:48 pm #253302You must show your workings. If you look at the examiners marking plans (which are at the very end of the examiners answers on the ACCA website) then you will see that the marks are for the workings and not for the final answer.
(It may be too late now, but I have uploaded lectures working through last December’s exam questions. In the lectures I show the approach to the answers (not just what the correct answer its).
June 4, 2015 at 7:47 pm #253347Thanks John. I always do all the workings for all the other things but never included detailed workings for inflation adjustments. I know how to do them but I was usually adding workings only for first 1-2 years to save time and then putting final answers only. I will definitely include all of them tomorrow to get some extra easy marks 🙂
Thanks again!
GosiaJune 5, 2015 at 7:37 am #253497You are welcome 🙂
