Hi,
Could you please help me with MCQ 39.3 from BPP revision kit?
“A company began producing a new product in batches four months ago. When production commenced the first batch took 45 hours.
1month – 1 batch
2month – 2 batches – 75% learning rate
3month – 4 batches – 75% learning rate
4 month – 8 batches – 90% learning rate
What was the average production time per batch for the first eight batches?”
Thank youMay 29, 2015 at 11:58 am #250182I think you have misread the question (because you have typed it wrongly).
The production is not 2 batches in month 2, 4 batches in month 3.
In month 2 the total to date is 2 batches (so they only made 1 batch in month 2).
In month 3, the total to date is 4 batches (so they only made 2 batched in month 3)
And similarly the only made 4 batches in month 4.The average time when making 1 is 45 hours.
The average time when making 2 in total is 45 x 0.75 =33.75 per batch
The average time when making 4 in total is 33.75 x 0.75 = 25.1325 per batch
The average time when making 8 in total is 25.1325 x 0.9 = 22.78125 per batch.
