    Dear my fellow students,

I am studying ACCA right now at fundamental levels and my major sources of lectures besides Opentuition are BPP Text and Revision Kit books. However, recently I ‘ve seen that many of us found weird errors in BPP Revision Kits. Personally, I’ve found errors in questions and/or solutions of F5,F7,F8,F9. This is very DANGEROUS since we trust so much in BPP. What we understand correctly could become wrong if we follow the wrong solutions provided.

So I think we should have a place where we could post these errors so other student could know and trust their own knowledge. Any errors found could be posted here! Thank you in advance for your contribution!

    Hello,

Not sure if it’s an error, but I would like to know.

Question SAVAGE about IAS 19 – employee benefits

It says in the question that :

    Interest rate @ 31 Dec 2004 = 6 %
    Interest rate @ 31 Dec 2005 = 7%

When unwinding the discount for the year, and even when calculating interest received on plan assets for the year, shouldn’t we take 7 % because it’s calculated at the end of the year ? The book says 6 % and I don’t understand why. Mistake on my part or on theirs ?

    Thanks !

In BPP P4 revision kit for the 2015 December exams, Q26. It says that for Discount value for tax shield calculation we need to use 7.2% discount factor. But I don’t understand why annuity factor for 7.2% for 5 years is 3.804, while I am getting 4.078.

Can somebody confirm that this is mistake in the answer of exercise and not in my calculation?

    Thanks
