    Hi

I have noticed that if you study AAT , you can put under your name that you are an accountant?

If a person is acca part qualified with a BSc in accounting and is looking for a job in accounting ( for example) what title can thsi person use?

Many thanks and sorry for the question above

The term accountant is not protected in the same way that Solicitor and Doctor is, much to the annoyance of all the professional bodies, so in theory it would be ok for you to describe yourself using that terminology. Personally I would only describe my self as Accounts Assistant until I passed all my chartered exams.

Accounts Assistant are not even graduate . I used to be an accounts assistant many years ago with a diploma in accounting.I wouls assume that if an AAT person can work as an accountant , the person with a degree in accounting can too.

I would say your title is defined by the type of work you do not by a qualification. If you do A/R billings you are a clerk, if you do Accounts prep for a manager you are Accounts Assistant, if you do Accounts to Trial balance and you report to the CFO or Controller (not a manager) you are an Accountant etc
