Hello I hope anyone here can help me.So I have passed f4,f7 and f8 but I am stuck in paper f5.Today as of february 8th 2015 I have failed it for the 6th time.I was so confident that I will pass but seems like I am stuck in some kind of a never ending f5 loop. This time I failed at 47.Whats your advice as I came through CAT and got exemptions from f1,f2 and f3.I am too much dissappointed and my father isn’t going to support me financially anymore.I feel really hopeless and thinking of quitting it,but then again my future is really destroyed.PLZ can you help or give any useful advice.Wheneer I am attempting this paper I feel like my blood pressure is lowered and I can’t really focus on it.My fear of this paper isn’t letting me pass this paper.
February 8, 2015 at 11:22 am #226678I am sorry that you have failed again, but 47 is so close that it would be sad to stop now.
Have you watched all the lectures on here? If not, then do (and make sure you really understand them – the examiner asks questions in a way to make sure you understand and have not just learned rules).
Have you got a current edition of a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers? If not then you must get one and you must practice every question (trying them yourself before looking at the answers, and then learning from your mistakes).
When you practice questions then do not just concentrate on the arithmetic parts, but really learn from the answers to the written parts – 50% of the exam is written as opposed to arithmetic,If you do encounter problems with any questions and realise you do not understand, then do ask in the Ask the Tutor Forum and I will try and help.
February 8, 2015 at 5:04 pm #226901I failed F5 4 times consecutively. My last attempt i got 49% mark. What type of joke doing with me acca f5 examiner. It seriously broke my confidence to complete acca journey. Please give me suggestion what can i do now?
February 8, 2015 at 8:23 pm #227012All I can suggest is what I suggested to Usama in my previous reply.
Your mark was so close that I really think you should be able to pass it next time.
February 9, 2015 at 2:05 pm #227348I think need to change f5 examiner & reviewer.
February 9, 2015 at 4:21 pm #227404Sorry, but you will have to accept that that is not going to happen any time soon.
February 11, 2015 at 12:43 pm #227840Truly this paper is a disaster. for the second time filled the exam by few marks 🙁 , but passed F6 in first go:)
practiced most of BPP revision kit and F5 past papers, I watched all the videos and got lots of support from the Mr.John Moffat, thank you so much for the all the support sir (Mr.John Moffat) Because of you F5 became one of my favorite subject. Also I really thought I will get good results for F5. 🙁 🙁 my bad luck !!! I really don’t want to repeat this paper again 🙁
February 11, 2015 at 11:32 pm #227961If you only failed by a few marks then you will surely pass it with a bit more work.
Make sure you concentrate on the written parts just as much as the calculation parts.
Make sure that you set out your workings in a way that is easy for the markers to follow.
Make sure that your writing is easy for the marker to read for written parts of questions.
Make sure you answer every question in section A, even if some of them are just guesses.
Make sure you watch your time and do something for every part of every question in section B.
