Hi all.I only have 5 papers left to complete my ACCA qualification. I am willing to appear for 3 papers in June 2015 attempt. I need guidance about which papers should I opt for. Plz Help
February 5, 2015 at 12:24 pm #225340If the question is which papers to approach this June then you have to do: P1, P2, P3.
A little bit to early to really commit to any optionals – they really depend on your personal preference
You need good knowledge of P2 (IAS) for P7 – if you want to opt
P3 has many parts that are examined in P5 or are very usefull at least – if you want to opt.If you really liked F9 and like stuff like valuations, mergers, financial instruments, derivatives then go for P4.
and P6 well yeah if you want to work in taxes. Besides that I don’t see any reason to take this paper – although many people take this paper because it has relatively high pass rates. Yes it is difficult and large but as far as I can see from other opinions pretty straight forward and consistant.
Many students switch from other optionals to P6 just for the sake of completing ACCA.
February 5, 2015 at 12:33 pm #225341I am not sure about appearing for p1,p2,p3 together as there are no gaps in between the exams. They are taken consecutively. Any other option which you would recommend? how about if i go for p1 p2 and p7?
February 5, 2015 at 12:57 pm #225344That’s the point you have to finish essentials before you go for options.
You can attempt both essentials and options in same session but for you it would mean attempting 4 papers
P1-P3 + optionSo you have to attempt P1-P3 now – and if you pass say 2 then u are left with one essential and take it December 2015 + 2 optionals.
February 7, 2015 at 9:45 pm #225896if u attempt 3 now 2 will be left
if u 2 now 3 will be left.
i say take P2 and p3 and then take the rest with P1.
taking 1,2,3, will enhance your chances of failure bcz all three will require a lot more theory practiceFebruary 8, 2015 at 1:37 am #226106Well I did P1 and P3 in December 2014 (which i passed) and now I am going to do P2, P4 and P6 in June 2015. This gives me a few days in between the exams to relax and revise. P2 was the toughest which is why I left it out for Dec 2014. I would not have done well if I had the 3 exams in a row. Also this was my first time ever attempting an ACCA paper (I got exemptions for the other 9 papers) so I had to start small as I wasn’t familiar with ACCA type exams.
Good Luck!
