Hi………….i just wanted to ask something related to f4 engish variant exam. as i would be taking f4 cbe in english variant exam very soon.
and i have been hearing from many people from couple of days that i should be taking global variant…. and i have been preparing in english variant.
so could you please tell me if im doing something wrong by taking f4 in english variant.. and whats the real difference b/w global and english variant. or would it cause any difference at later stage by opting any one of the above exam style?
waiting ahead for reply at soon !!!
with utmost respect!
January 27, 2015 at 8:51 pm #224010The only difference really is if you have aspirations to get a UK practicing certificate.
If so, you should do English
If not, then Global.
But, all told, there’s not a world of difference. English goes heavier into contract law whereas global is more orientated towards international trade and dispute resolution.
If you’ve prepared for English, do English. It won’t do you any harm!
And, in your practicing under exam conditions and you’re regularly scoring 70% within the two hours / 100 marks, then you’re fine
Ok?

January 28, 2015 at 1:08 pm #224157The exam is 2 hours long, the are 25 questions for 2 marks each, 20 questions for 1 mark each and 5 multiple task question worth 6 marks each, typically subdivided into 3 lots of 2 marks.
The specimen exam is available on the ACCA website, linked through opentuition under “home, ACCA, F4, past exams, specimen F4 paper” and you can also find there, under past exams, the paper based exam for December 2014
Ok?
