Hi, i am intrusted in doing the course ACCA and want to know more about it. I have done 7 igcse exams ( English, maths, accounting, business studies, economics, urdu and ict) and right now doing my A levels in accounts, business and english. As have not taken maths in A levels, will i be able to start the course with the fundamentals, or i have to go for foundation?
Thanks.January 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm #223790It seems you are eligible to take exemptions from F1-F3.
Please contact ACCA as only they can confirm this fact. You will have to present relevant scans of documents to prove your education.Fees for exempted papers will still have to be paid.
January 26, 2015 at 1:06 pm #223797Hi my name is Racheal and I would like to know if math is important to have on my GCE exam results for me to study ACCA.
January 26, 2015 at 1:12 pm #223799I dont know how GCE exactly works – but you don’t need to have math on this exam to start ACCA studies. There is no relationship between the GCE results and ACCA.
Although you need some math skills to be able to pass the exams however an average knowledge is enough. (adding, deducting, multiplying, using formulas – and some analytical thinking). You can practice all this while studying ACCA and preparing.
There are english and math preliminary tests on ACCA website so you can get a feel about math level.
January 26, 2015 at 2:16 pm #223812What do u think, wil me not taking math in A levels have any effect?
January 26, 2015 at 3:46 pm #223818I don’t know what A level is. I suggest stop worrying about this ‘math’. I would argue that can math matters in 3 out of 9 papers in F level. After that you really have only 1 subject with technically advanced calculations – P4.
F2, F5, F9. Take a look at those papers, syllabus, lectures on this site and see what level of calculations are there.
in ACCA math is not the problem – examiner will not try to hunt you down by providing mathematical problems to solve. It’s about reading the scenarios with understanding and applying relevant accounting / financial techniques.
As I said in previous post there are also preliminary math and english tests available on ACCA website – take a look at them also.
January 26, 2015 at 11:01 pm #223863Hi
I used to think the same when I left embarked upon my ACCA journey in June 2013 after completing my A-levels. To be perfectly honest, you need no previous maths experience apart from adding and subtracting.
The highest formula I have come across so far In ACCA is simultaneous equations which as u will know is GCSE stuff. I’m in professional papers now so u can take a guess yourself how so NOT important maths is.
Hope this helps 🙂
