February 9, 2015 at 1:39 pm #227336Dear Sir,
I would like to start studying for F6 so that I can write the exam in June of this year.
I am doing the UK variant and would like to know if the lectures are up to date for that exam session.
Also I would like for your or someone to tell me if its worth to self study for this exam using these notes and lectures.Thank You
February 9, 2015 at 3:23 pm #227382The course notes are available online and you may now start your studies with them. As the note above states the lectures will start to become available by the end of February. Once you have worked your way through the course notes and lectures you should then supplement this by purchasing an exam kit / revision question bank from one of the approved providers to acquire the essential practice at exam questions that you will need to achieve success in this exam.Good luck with your studies.
February 9, 2015 at 5:14 pm #227419I am from Singapore. Is it advisable at all if I opt to sit for the UK variant for paper F6? Base on our tax history, I know our tax system was first introduced by the British colonial government. Should that matter?
February 10, 2015 at 3:57 am #227496Hi Sheha I regret I cannot advise you as to which F6 variant is right for you. Clearly living in Singapore there should be a plentiful supply of tuition and material providers for the local variant which you may choose to use and I would imagine that knowledge of your own domestic tax system would be of use to you and leave open the choice of the P6 paper there as well.
If you choose the UK variant as many thousands of students from around the world do then it is just another technical subject for which the rules need to be learned and applied and therefore in common with the majority of those thousands around the world if you prepare properly for the exam you should be able to succeed.February 10, 2015 at 4:25 am #227500Thank you! That’s really a helpful advise. Which means if I am opting to do P6 then I should really consider my F6 variant wisely. What if I skip F6 for now and do F7 and F8 first, will those papers require some knowledge in F6? I m hoping to keep my study time flexible for now by using the tutorials and lectures here to study.
February 11, 2015 at 4:16 am #227773No problem with moving to F7 and F8 as no F6 knowledge will be required there.
February 11, 2015 at 4:42 am #227777Great! Thank you for your time.
February 18, 2015 at 2:20 am #229008I think there is a little confusion here…the solution on Mr smith with reference to the first example used the present rate for personal allowance (10000). In the second example (Billy) it used the old rate (9440)… This is getting confusing. Please advice.
February 19, 2015 at 7:17 am #229129The version I am working with most certainly has the new PA of 10,000 used so I am not sure where this comment is coming from but I will check with the administrator to ensure that the correct version is online!

March 13, 2015 at 6:43 am #232206Hey Tax Tutor,
I am afraid as the other chapters are not being still updated. When do you think, you can touch them?Your teaching style is so wonderful!
Many Thanks
March 16, 2015 at 10:34 pm #232651Remaining lectures will start to come online from middle of next week when I have a break from current lecture commitments. It would be worthwhile if you have not already attempted them to work the following Practice Questions from the OT Course Notes:
Q’s 1-20 – Income Tax
Q 21 – NIC
Q’s 29 – 30 & 32 – 36 – CGT
You can of course read through the remaining chapters as well in preparation for the remaining lectures.March 17, 2015 at 1:31 am #232668Really thanks for the response that you managed to leave within your busy schedule. Your profession of tax is most stunning. I have planed to opt p6 and Tax as a career as well.
How will it be possible that I become junior tax consultant after having completed F’series exams?
Also another advice for me that yet I dont have any experience regarding accounting. My PER is 0 months. So when I will start job as a trainee. Should I search for Tax trainee, if I want to start my career in Tax?
Many Thanks
March 19, 2015 at 12:18 am #233241Just to say many thanks to Tax Tutor for those June 2015 lectures which are already available. They are really clear and useful. Much appreciated. I look forward to seeing the remaining lectures when they are made available.
