A team is formed deliberately with though given to the mix of skills and personalities. They are given a formal objective such as the team responsible for choosing and implementing a new accounting system.
Groups are any collection of individuals who perceive themselves to be a group. They can be formal or informal. An example of an informal group is a group of colleagues who decide to form an amateur soccer club outside work.
A team is a group, but a group is not necessarily a team.
