Dear Sir,
I am confused between choosing the ACCA Options and require help. These are the details :
I have not worked nor any practical experience.
I have started with FIA and completed every paper and then shifted to ACCA without doing the last CAT part to F4 onwards.
I didnt like F5 but got good marks in the final exam of about of 65-70%.
I didn’t like F6 at start of semester but developed a liking at the end and really liked the subject and scored well in the final ACCA exam of around 75-80%.
I liked a lot of F9 and used to score well in the class assessments and class mocks of about 70-80% (I am vague and don’t remember clearly the marks) and used to score well in them however in the final exam just passed with a margin of 2% and I do not know why that happened. Was it of the pressure I was giving F8 and F9 consequentially one day after the other ?
So I would advice on the P Options paper.!Please help !
December 18, 2014 at 11:46 am #221072Depends if you want to just pass your exams or shape your future career by taking specific optional exams.
If you want to just pass exam I would do P6 and P4 in your place. Otherwise try thinking what kind of job profile would like to have and maybe take related exams even if you have lower ‘feel’ about them.

December 18, 2014 at 2:24 pm #221083It should be easier…. for you – since you liked F9 and F6.. Maybe easier maybe not.
Who really knows?Otherwise try thinking what kind of job profile would you like to have and maybe take related exams even if you have lower ‘feel’ about them.
All papers are hard.
December 18, 2014 at 3:04 pm #221088I sat P4 and P6, just waiting on result for P6
I found P4 horrendously hard. I didn’t find F9 particularly easy, but P4 is a big jump from F9 in my opinion, where P6 compared to F6 isn’t as bad
P4 can be broken into a few areas, and is fairly calculation driven, where P6 has a lot of specific detail to remember, like really intricate details
I chose my opinions based on what I thought would benefit me most career wise, I think I chose wisely, although P4 is hard, the knowledge is essential imo
December 22, 2014 at 12:25 am #221232From a personal perspective I found P6 enjoyable and quite straight forward.
With the benefit of hindsight I would’ve avoided P7 at all cost and would’ve opted for P4/5. (I’m mentally scarred by this paper having failed it x2).
Everyone is completely unique when it comes to ACCA, so what I would say is sound out peoples advise but go down the avenue of your strengths. E.g. I’m a numbers person and should have never gone down the audit route.
Good luck with whatever choice you make; You’ll be fine INSHALLAH!
