Hello Mr. Mike, it’s been a long journey since then and i am now considering my last 2 optional papers, which one of them is P6(MYS). However, i am unable to consider the other one, either P4 or P7.
I read a lot about how to choose the right paper for who, which includes many factors such as how well I did when I was in Fundamental level, marks obtained, career path.
I scored 74 on both paper F8 & F9, which again i can’t choose which optional paper should i take base on this factor.
About career path, I once attend a talk from the talent team from EY, and one of the respond they gave is that you optional paper will not determine where you want to go, for example if you’re taking P4 & P6 doesn’t mean that you can never enter audit department and vice versa.
As for now, i am still not sure which path i want to take as i feel like i didn’t get enough exposure on the industry itself, so my main focus now is that taking papers that could give me the best chance in clearing the paper in June 2015 sitting.
Hi, if you plan to be a registered auditor in practice in the UK then you need P7. Otherwise, as you have correctly indicated, there’s not a lot to choose between P4 and P7 in terms of career path.
In terms of future earnings, tax seems to be a good idea! EVERYONE (should!) pays tax and the big tax payers are always looking for tax advice on how to pay less (without evasion).
If I were starting out again, tax or insolvency would be my chosen route ….. but it’s altogether too late for that now 🙁

Yes it helps alot. thx mike, and if i were to choose this insolvency area, p4 is more appropriate area right?
You really could do with looking at the syllabus / requirements necessary to become a qualified insolvency practitioner.
P4 is not within my repertoire (I know next to nothing about it)
If you’re serious, maybe John or Gromit could help (I can’t remember which of those two covers P4 – that’s the extent of my P4 knowledge!)

Just wanna tell you thanks for the motivation.. I was the one last year who asked you about P7 paper and was questioning whether it was a good paper. I followed your instructions on how to study and I passed thank you a lot.
