Hi Sir,
I finished an exam yesterday and am now free to start CBE F4. I just wanted to get a feeler of what this course requires as I want to complete it ASAP.
There are a lot of videos for contract law. Why is this the case? Are all these necessary for the computer based exam? And what about the other lectures?
Also, how do you feel this course is best approached. I do not want to buy a Reading Kit from Kaplan and BPP, so can I just use the Course Notes you have provided?
Kind Regards,
YazanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:39 pm #216994You can ….. but the course notes are literally that – they are the basis of the lectures that are recorded. Are you doing global or English? For English Law, the lectures together with course notes and a book of mcqs from a reputable publisher together with 200+ questions on this site should be enough.
If you are doubtful about anything, post here again or check it out on google
Why are there a lot of videos on contract law? Because contract law / the law of obligations is the basis of the development of the English legal system – some of the cases are over 400 years old and still relevant!
The names and stories are not necessary for the cbe but the principles that they establish are necessary
Endless repetition of mcqs could well be the answer ….. so DON’T WRITE your answers in the book – answer on a separate piece of paper and that way you can tackle the questions over and over again
OK?
December 3, 2014 at 8:33 pm #217083Fantastic advice and quick response, thanks!
I am studying the english variant. I’ll definitely go ahead and pursue your strategy.
To clarify, the case names are not important, and hence, do not need to be memorised? Instead i only need to familiarise myself with their rules/implications, yes?
fyi i did a general law module and uni so that should stand me in good stead as well as provide a strong basis for the upcoming contract and company law modulesm. should be interesting.
Thanks again
YDecember 4, 2014 at 12:24 am #217140You’re welcome. Agreed, case names are not important, nor section numbers nor years of cases not names of statute
Any problems, post here again
December 4, 2014 at 10:52 pm #217743I was briefly looking through the flashcards and saw cards like “Kramer vs Kramer” represents what part of … law. I assume these sort of questions wont be comoing up?
December 5, 2014 at 5:19 am #217777There is a hint of humor creeps into the flash cards and into a few of the mcqs …… but what’s life without a little bit of humour
I don’t remember the Kramer vs Kramer flash card but it could, in fact, be illustrating a serious point

Go to “home, ACCA, F4” scroll down nearly to the bottom of that page and, on the left in a blue box you’ll find “Take F4 GLO Test” and just below that there is the English variant equivalent
Don’t know of any publisher that has such a book
