Hello, John,
Please advise where I can get some information on current developments and emerging issues in mng accounting and performance mng? The syllabus contains this topic but I don’t have up to date info.
Thanks!
November 26, 2014 at 9:16 am #213327Try Chapter 17 of the OT notes. Current developments is a potentially very wide subject and the chance of reading and retaining something that will appear in the exam is low. We advise students not to worry about it too much.
The examiner himself says in an article on the Examiner’s approach:
The final capability [current developments] reflects the requirement that at the Professional level, candidates are expected to show the ability to gather new knowledge from the general technical press and so the articles in Student Accountant will be sources of topics for exam. These articles will also be the principal route by which the students will have new techniques and trends communicated outside of the slower cycle of revisions to the syllabus………Any additional reading beyond the ACCA-approved texts and Student Accountant articles should be viewed as advisory and not required.
So, perhaps read articles as follows:
Activity based management
Human resource management and the appraisal system
Reward schemes for employees and management - AuthorPosts
