I just want to ask that whether we will get credit for some general due diligence procedures such as ensure that no bank covenant is being breached due to takeover,span of employees contracts as the company may have to pay redundancy pay if the current employees are made redundant.

If its applicable as part of an answer then, yes, you should get credit.
But make sure that these audit procedures that you have suggested DO address the verb that is an integral part of the question
If a question asks you for “procedure” then fine
But if it asks you for matters to consider then, no, they would not score marks
