Hello.
Any tips for the new exam structure re multiple choice questions?
I have started exam practice for F5 using BPP revision book.
I am dyslexic so struggle with English and am finding the MCQ very hard.
Example on a multiple choice question.
Q: if the target costing gap cannot be reduced should the managers chose to produce?
I said nob but the answer said yes, cost gap should not be the only considering factor.
I am not sure how to get through these question when they appear to be opposite to what I have learnt.
There was no time frame given in the question so yes short term break even or a small loss may be considered but surely not long term.
Would be so grateful for other students thoughts and insights and and tutors advice :o)
Happy Studying everyone.

If that is the full question that you wrote, then the answer does indeed seem unreasonable, as we’re taught to assess whether to produce something on the grounds of whether the target cost can be met.
Perhaps there was some additional information added to this?
If not, this might just be one of those rare “tricky” questions, and it’s good you’ve found it now.
You certainly won’t find that the exam is fundamentally the “opposite” of what you’ve been taught.
Do the Open-Tuition MCQ tests on this website, too.
Best of luck on the day, and if you know the Open-Tuition notes well, you’ll pass well too.

November 6, 2014 at 8:31 pm #208149Thank you Andrew, will try out the MCQ’s on here, your right best not to get stuck on just one question.
Thank you John, I have registered for assistance from ACCA, hope that helps.
Thanks Ali :o)
August 16, 2019 at 1:06 pm #527800Hi Ali. I wondered how you got on. Did you manage to pass your exams? My son has dyslexia and is finding the MCQs very difficult indeed even though he has extra time. Thanks Mannieac
August 16, 2019 at 1:07 pm #527801Hi Ali. I am wondering if MCQs are actually a barrier to success for some dyslexics?
