    Hi,
I am working on my notes from June 2013 preparation. What is new since then in current issues and examinable documents?

    Thank you
    Kind regards

Agoldon, i cannot remember the detail of syllabus changes year by year.

What is important for this year is IAS 41 Agriculture and the new topic of integrated reporting, both of which have a chapter in the updated free course notes on this site and both of which, in my guesses as at 11 October, have a really strong chance of being asked in the December examination

    Ok?

About current issues the part about SME was deleted so I guess remote chance of asking on exam.

    Thank you very much.
Could you advise any source to read about current developments in ifrs/ias and the framework during past two years?

Yes, I find that I am frequently recommending the Deloitte sponsored http://www.iasplus website

I can find nothing to say against it for its ability to keep me up to date with activity within the accounting standards

Try it, and let me know what you think

I can’t seem to find the current exposure drafts on the homepage. Could you advise me where on the website exactly we will get information that is relevant for P2, please?

I have just opened the website, seen “popular” in the right hand column, clicked on “leases” and there I see a full up-to-date background on the development and proposed changes to IAS 17

Is that not enough for you?

If you put into google any IAS number, it’s pretty certain that the iasplus reference will come up on your screen

    Try it!

Mike I have to refresh the topic relating to SME as a Current Issue.

I can’t remember where I get that from that SME is deleted from syllabus but I approached another forum topic here where it says it is in syllabus and is examinable. I look into syllabus and SME’s are definitely there…

So whats the status of SME for DEC014? Can I forget about it or should I learn it.

…. ok I actually found the areas deleted:

C11 a) Outline the principal considerations in developing a set
    of accounting standards for SMEs
C 11 c) Discuss the reasons why the IFRS for SMEs does not
    address certain topics.

So only few things deleted from SME but the rest stays and seems to be examinable…
